The Ursy desk is made from reclaimed Douglas fir that came from a local building. The top and drawers’ faces are constructed from 100-year-old 3″x12″ joists. The reclaimed wood’s beautiful patina is complemented by hot-rolled steel, which I finished with a blue gun finish and protected with a zero VOC natural oil blend. While making the top, I found some white ceramic tubes that were used for the old knob and tube electric installation of the time.
The desk’s dimensions are 78″ long x 33″ wide x 30″ high, as shown in the picture.
